Alex Pomareda
Lead Wildlife Trapper & Founder — over 40 years of hands-on Florida wildlife experience.
Alex Pomareda has worked hands-on with Florida wildlife his entire life — more than 40 years spent trapping, relocating and managing the reptiles and nuisance animals that thrive in South Florida's subtropical environment. From nuisance alligators in retention ponds to iguana infestations tearing up seawalls and golf courses, there isn't a South Florida wildlife problem Alex hasn't personally handled.
Experience That Actually Matters
Florida Wildlife Pros was built on something you can't get from a training manual: a lifetime spent working with South Florida's wildlife. Our founder, Alex Pomareda, has spent over 40 years handling the reptiles and nuisance animals that define this region — from nuisance alligators in retention ponds and golf-course lakes to the invasive iguanas that have overrun our canals, seawalls and neighborhoods.
That depth of experience is what separates us. Wildlife work is judgment work — reading an animal's behavior, knowing where it dens and travels, understanding Florida's regulations for protected and nuisance species, and choosing the method that gets a lasting result safely and humanely. Decades of doing it, day in and day out, is why we get it right the first time.
Licensed, Humane & Legal
Every removal we perform is licensed, humane and compliant with Florida law. Nuisance alligators are handled within the state's regulatory framework; protected species like bats are excluded legally and only outside maternity season; and invasive species like green iguanas are removed and controlled the right way. We never cut corners, and we never use methods that put people, pets or the animals at unnecessary risk.
Removal — And Prevention
Anyone can set a trap. What sets us apart is that we solve the actual problem: we identify what drew the animal in, clean up the mess it left, and seal the entry points so it can't come back. That prevention-first philosophy is why our clients — homeowners, businesses, HOAs and golf courses across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach — call us once and keep us on speed dial.
Deep Local Knowledge
South Florida is a unique wildlife environment, and general pest-control training simply doesn't prepare you for it. Our canals connect entire alligator populations. Our warm climate lets invasive iguanas breed almost year-round. Our construction styles give roof rats and raccoons dozens of ways into an attic. Knowing this landscape intimately — which animals show up where, when and why — is what lets us respond quickly and correctly instead of learning on your dime. It's knowledge earned over decades, not weekends.
Honest, Straightforward Service
We believe in treating people the way we'd want to be treated: clear pricing before we start, no scare tactics, no unnecessary work, and real answers to your questions. When you call Florida Wildlife Pros, you get a straight assessment of your situation, a fair quote, and a team that shows up, does what it says, and stands behind the work. That reputation — built one satisfied customer at a time — is the foundation of everything we do.
A Lifetime With Florida's Wildlife
Alex Pomareda didn't learn this work in a classroom. Growing up and working in South Florida, Alex spent decades around alligators, iguanas, snakes and the full cast of animals that share our neighborhoods — learning their behavior first-hand, the way only time in the field can teach. That lifetime of experience is the heart of Florida Wildlife Pros, and it's why customers trust us with situations that would leave a general pest company guessing.
Over the years, Alex has personally handled thousands of removals: nuisance gators pulled from backyard pools and golf-course ponds, iguana infestations cleared off seawalls before they collapsed, raccoon families safely evicted from attics, and rat colonies eliminated and sealed out of homes and restaurants. Every one of those jobs added to a body of knowledge that no manual can replicate — and every customer benefits from it.
Serving Homes, Businesses & Communities
Today, Florida Wildlife Pros serves homeowners, businesses, HOAs, property managers and golf courses across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. Some clients call us once for a single animal; many keep us on retainer for ongoing iguana and nuisance-wildlife programs. In every case, the goal is the same: solve the problem completely, treat the property and the animals with respect, and leave you confident it won't happen again.
FAQ
About Our Company
How long has Florida Wildlife Pros been doing this?
Our founder, Alex Pomareda, has over 40 years of hands-on experience with South Florida wildlife. It's a lifetime of work with the exact animals we remove — not a franchise startup.
Are you licensed?
Yes. We are fully licensed and comply with all Florida regulations governing nuisance, protected and invasive species — including the specific rules for alligators and bats.
What makes you different from a pest-control company?
Wildlife work is judgment work that depends on deeply understanding animal behavior and Florida's regulations. We specialize in it, we bring decades of field experience, and we focus on prevention — sealing entry points and removing attractants — so the problem is actually solved.
Do you really handle everything from gators to rats?
Yes — reptiles, mammals, rodents, dead-animal removal and exclusion. One experienced team for the full range of South Florida wildlife problems. Call 561-940-1895.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes. For urgent situations — a gator in a pool, a snake in the house, an animal in your living space — we prioritize same-day and emergency response across all three counties, seven days a week.
Where are you based and how far do you travel?
We're a South Florida operation serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties in full. From the Everglades edge to the barrier islands, if you're in the tri-county area, we cover you.
